Privacy, in plain language

The extension is designed so we do not receive your recipes, screenshots, OCR results, task steps, passphrases, or browsing history.

Data stored on your device

Notebook names, site origins, landmark coordinates, spoken cues, task steps, preferences, and any pasted supporter license are stored in the extension’s local browser storage. Removing the extension may remove this data; use encrypted export to keep a backup.

Screenshot and OCR processing

A screenshot is captured only after you choose “Place on app.” It is shown temporarily inside the active tab and is not saved in the notebook or uploaded. If your browser exposes a local TextDetector, OCR runs on the device and its results are discarded when placement closes.

Encrypted backups

Exports are encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM and a key derived from your passphrase. We never receive or store that passphrase and cannot recover it.

Purchases

If you buy the optional Supporter Pack, the checkout and license service is provided by Sociobot, with Dodo as merchant of record. They process the payment data needed for the transaction under their own policies. This site stores the returned license token and a daily verification result in your browser’s local storage. The extension stores a token only when you paste it there.

Analytics and third parties

There are no analytics, advertising trackers, runtime CDNs, or third-party fonts. The site may receive ordinary server access logs from its host. We do not sell or share personal data.

Your control

You can delete notebooks in the editor, clear extension storage by removing the extension, and clear site licenses using your browser’s site-data controls. Questions can be sent to privacy@sociobot.in.
